Welcome To Winegard Elementary School!

Our goal is to provide a quality education through shared responsibility in a safe and supportive environment for all students to meet the challenges of a global society.

We are “Committed to Excellence”, and we work hard to make this site a primary source for timely information for all users, and a main gateway for improved communication between parents, teachers, students and other members of our community. Our goal and responsibility is to help each student develop an enthusiasm for learning, a respect for self and others, and the skills to become a creative independent thinker and problem solver.

Dear Students, Parents and Guardians,

Welcome to the 2nd Semester Face to Face!  It is an honor to serve as your principal and instructional leader here at Winegard Elementary.  We are excited to have you join us in our new building!  We hope you are enjoying a safe, restful and healthy holiday break.   The first day of the 2nd Semester starts at 8:45 a.m. on Tuesday, January 5th, 2021, and ends at 3:00 p.m.  Please do not leave students before 8:15 a.m.

Winegard is a Title I school and all students continue to receive free breakfast and lunch this year.  Your child may bring a sack lunch or healthy snack if they wish.  Upon arrival, students will report directly to the Cafeteria for breakfast at 8:15am.  From there, all students will be directed to their welcome center outside their classroom.

This year, Winegard will continue to partner with the YMCA child care program.  If you register your child for the morning services, they will be welcomed in to the cafeteria as early as 7:00 a.m. before school starts.  After students are dismissed, the YMCA after school program will run from 3:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m.

We are very excited about the new school year where students join us on the road to success!  Winegard is a uniform school where students are encouraged to dress for success wearing polo shirts and slacks.  All students who wear the uniform every day at least 5 days will receive a free school spirit shirt.  You will find a list of supplies needed for your back-to-school planning on our school website at  (Note: We request that “rolling backpacks” not be used by our students.  They can be very dangerous on the stairwells and too large to store in classrooms.)  All students returning F2F must remember to bring their device and charger each day to school.  Please ensure that they bring back all workbooks used at home as well.  We appreciate our children being well prepared, each day of school!

We hope you will consider becoming a member of PTA ($5 membership) or serving as a volunteer so you can be involved in our wonderful school!

A reminder that our student hours are as follows:

8:15am              Gates Open (do not leave students before 8:15am)

8:15am – 8:45am              Breakfast is served

                8:40am                First Bell

                8:45am                Tardy Bell-Classes Begin

3:00 (2:00 on Wed.)       Staggered Dismissal

It is very important to let your child’s teacher know how your child will go home (bus, walker, car rider, etc.).  IF YOUR CHILD WILL BE A CAR RIDER or ESCORTED WALKER (Kg and 1st grade ONLY), you must have a CURRENT Winegard car tag or escorted walker pick up card.  This tag must be displayed each day of school to pick up your child.  Otherwise, you will need to park, come to the front office and show an ID in order to pick up your child.  Please let us know if you need a new car tag or walker pick up card in order to avoid long lines.

It is our hope that returning for the first day of Face-to-Face on campus will set the tone for the school-family communication and relationship for the rest of the year as we follow health and safety guidelines.  Masks are worn at all times, safe social distance is expected and everyone is encouraged to wash their hands often.

We look forward to continue to strengthen the positive relationship between you and the school.  If you have any concerns about any aspect of your child’s education, feel free to contact the teacher, school counselor, dean of students, or an admin team member.  We hope that you are as excited about the 2nd Semester of the school year as we are.

Winegard Patriots are is truly On the Road to Success!
